Vegan Fourth of July Staples

Like most American holidays, the Fourth of July is celebrated with lots of food.  You can easily get your grub on while remaining cruelty-free.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.  When life friends hand you lemons fresh herbs from their garden,

make a mojito!

Whether or not swimming is on your agenda, let your potato chips and pretzels make a splash in onion dip. Mix one container of Tofutti sour supreme with 85% of an onion soup mix packet; chill and serve.

Choose your favorite veggie burger.

In VM's house, it's Sunshine's southwest variety with red onion, tomato, pickles, and habanero ketchup on a whole wheat bun (with sincerest gratitude to MS, my vegan guide to WF).

They may be old school, but I'm still a sucker for tofu pups.  With sauerkraut, horseradish mustard, and sliced pickles (when you've run out of relish):

Don't forget the freshly husked corn-on-the-cob:

And, finally: ice cream.  In this case, Coconut Bliss chocolate hazelnut fudge.

Poor vegans; we're always left out of everything.

Peace.

Have you got something to say? It would be so nice to hear from you!
(I know captchas suck, but not as much as spam.)
