Cake Thieves Pop-Up Brunch at Elsewhere Espresso

Last weekend I attended a Cake Thieves pop-up brunch at Elsewhere Espresso.

You're probably already familiar with Cake Thieves' cinnamon bun specialties and inventive and delicious donuts, but the girl can also sling a mean and hearty brunch.

This was my first time at Elsewhere Espresso; my vanilla latte was delish.

They also had a nice assortment of teas.

And, it seems as though they always have vegan baked goods on offer: from Cake Thieves, of course.  On this day: blueberry scones, corn muffinnnns, and banana chocolate chip muffins.

It's also dog-friendly, just like Cake Thieves.

Aaaand, they have a super humongous and clean restroom, FYI!

But, back to the grub:

I saw a post of these amazing looking biscuits on Instagram and knew I had to get them.

BYOJ

I paired them with the hashbrowns,

veggie tofu scramble,

and plenty of ketchup and hot sauce (not pictured).

My friend ordered them properly- i.e., with gravy.

There were also four  kinds of pancakes (blueberry, banana, chocolate chip, banana-chocolate chip) available, but even this girl can only do so much damage this early in the morning.

And, guess what?  You're in luck!  They're going to do it all again this Sunday.

ed. note: 89 dresses appropriately for all seasons

I can't make it, but hopefully you can: 10-3!

  1. Looks like a vegan dream come true. I can't even begin to imagine such deliciousness. And puppies too!

  2. I think I prefer my biscuits with hashbrowns and scramble — gravy isn't my thing at brunch. Though, I could change my mind.

  3. I think 89 is dressed for spring not the polar vortex.

  4. You preach the good word, Abby. I had no idea this place existed, let alone hosted (hopefully to become a regular event??) a vegan brunch! (though, I would have spelled it BRRRRRRRRRUNCH! not with the multiple Us...but that's neither here nor there.)
LOVE Love the sign outside! Ha!
I may not be able to make it tomorrow but thank you for letting us know about this place. I can check out some CT products at my leisure....

  6. The Shenandoah Vegan- I have to admit that photo was from a previous Cake Thieves event; it's too cold for puppies in sun dresses right around now.

Andrea- Yes; I do not like gravy on breakfast.

Susan- true! See above for clarification. I don't want to be accused of puppy abuse.

foodfeud- They post funny signs all the time; Cake Thieves usually posts them on IG. Enjoy!

BYOL- since I don't like biscuits and gravy I tried to harass Lauren into having jam/jelly. She said it was BYO!

  7. That looks delicious - I've never heard of a pop-up brunch, but I like it! 89 looks very glam. Perhaps dressed more for the heatwave we've been having in Melbourne.

Have you got something to say? It would be so nice to hear from you!
(I know captchas suck, but not as much as spam.)
